Truckhaven is an off-road meca of mud hills in California across S22 from Ocotillo Wells OHV near Borrego

Springs. The Phone Booth is notorious for roll overs even though we kept it easy on that score. There was a

case of one rig almost getting swallowed by a mine but sadly no video of that. The Notches are an infamous

gathering place and it is always fun to go under the arch and have a brush with body damage! But the highlight

of the trip was the Calcite Mine which is accessible by any SUV. It is where they used to mine for Calcite that

was used for making lenses during the war. There is still plenty of Calcite on the ground to see.
